Sue
Sue, the owner of Kelsey's, has been stitching since her mother put a needle in her hand. Initially she stitched basic embroidery on tea towel, pillow cases, etc. Just after graduating from high school she stitched her first counted cross-stitch piece, Dopey one of the Seven Dwarfs, and has been hooked ever since on counted needleart. Over the years she has expanded her stitching to include hardanger, huck weaving, and other forms of counted needlework. Prior to opening the business, Sue worked 15 years for the State of California as a Manager in a large Training Department. She brings extensive training experience to her classes and expects the same quality from all the instructors at Kelsey's.

Valorie
Valorie has been a needlework instructor since 1995. Classes taught include "Lacing Needlework for Framing", "Beginning Pulled Thread", "Intermediate Cross Stitch", "Beginning Tatting", "Intermediate Tatting", and several other counted stitch project classes. Valorie is certified as a Needlework Judge by The Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA) since 1997 and has judged several times at the California State Fair, multiple county fairs and other independent shows. See some samples of Valorie's finishing work here.

She has a B.S. in Chemistry from California State University, Sacramento and is a California Tax Education Council Registered Tax Preparer since 1986. Married since 1977,  her family moved to Shingle Springs in 2000. She has garnered her 19 ribbons, 9 of them blue, at the El Dorado County Fair.
