The
Placerville area has the newest chapter of The
Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc. A special thanks
to Valorie Perkins Rice for all her hard work getting this
chapter going. What is the EGA? The organization was established
in 1958 as the American branch of the prestigious Embroiderers’
Guild in England (est. 1906). The express purpose of this
organization is to foster the art of needlework by encouraging
a high standard of design and technique in embroidery. Additionally,
they conduct instruction and research in the art of needlework
and share that knowledge through their meetings, programs
and workshops. We invite stitchers of all levels to join and
welcome visitors to attend two meetings a year for free. Come
join us in pursuit of beautiful, fun, timeless, exotic, traditional,
dramatic, and wonderful embroidery.
The meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm
in the Hearing Room,
EDC Gov’t Bldg. C, 2850 Fairlane Ct. Placerville.
