Are you ever tempted to add more detail to your designs, but are worried about veering off the instructions and color keys? Leading down your own creative path within a design can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Embellishing your designs with your own personality can be easy and extremely rewarding. Imagine a design that you absolutely love, stitched solely with cotton floss. What comes to mind? Do you see a flat and two-dimensional image, too? Now imagine that same design embellished with more texture and color from thread choices not listed in the ingredient list; choices you made on you own; choice that appeal to your sense of touch and sight. Suppose this favorite design of yours is a beach scene with fish and seashells. What better way to add movement and realism than to embellish them with shiny, light-reflective metallic threads in dynamic shades? The scales of the fish would pop off the canvas and the sand residue on the shells would sparkle. Your entire design now comes to life before your eyes. And this happens simply by prescribing your own details to an already brilliant design.

Jazzing up your own designs doesn’t have to be complicated. Bringing your projects to a more exciting level can be as simple as adding a complementary metallic thread color to your floss in the needle or substituting some floss called for in the design with and equivalent weight of metallic thread. Adding personality is that easy! And it you want to get even fancier, enhance designs further with beads, appliqués, and iron-on threads. Your creativity is virtually limitless once you set yourself free to express yourself!!!
