Kelsey's Needle Krafts
Orts
What are "Orts" you ask? Orts is a name we have heard used for those little bits of thread you cut off your work and throw away. So what goes on the Orts page? Leftovers that don't fit on the other pages! Looks for bits of information about needlework products, stories, poems, tips, maybe a pattern. Orts can be small or large so anything goes!

Embrodiery HoopStitching with Purpose
A wonderful article on why we stitch by Dennise Cardona of Kreinik Mfg., Co., Inc.

Ort Usage
Here at Kelsey's we have several ort jars that are collecting beautiful scraps of fibers. For the Holiday's we will be placing orts in clear glass ornaments. What else can you do with them?? Contact us with your ideas and we will compile a fun list of "Ort Usage".

Gift Certificate/Registry
Do you have a wish list??? If so, we have the capability of recording this information. Please come by and let us know all the wonderful items you would like. Then simply send your family and friends in and we will let them know what you are interested in receiving as a gift. If all else fails we also have Gift Certificates, which can be purchased in any denomination.

Finishing your Work
Do you want your project completed into the perfect pillow or ornament? Two of our instructors, Linda and Valorie, do custom finish work, turning your work into pillows, stockings, and ornaments. Contact us and we will put you in touch with Linda or Valorie. We would like to have any December holiday projects to us no later than November 1st to guarantee completion before the holidays.

Customer GalleryCustomer Gallery
Calling all stitchers! Kelsey’s would love to showcase your beautiful work. Please bring in your ready to hang or display projects and we will place them around the shop. It would be nice if you could leave them for 2 months. We will also need to know information regarding the design, in the event customers would like to stitch the piece.

White Noise
What is White Noise? It¹s a sort of non-interfering background sound that actually relaxes the mind and spirit (running water, ocean sound, etc.) Cross stitching or any counted thread projects is, for me, an alternative to the background sounds and has the same effect of clearing my mind of all other life responsibilities (paying bills, work, war, etc.) The wonderful up side of stitching is that it provides you with a finished project that can become a family heirloom. So pick up a project, clear your mind and relax your spirit. It is our hope that 2004 be a wonderful year for all, with lots of White Noise. Special thanks to Karen Ancona Editor in Chief of CNA for the above information.

Express Yourself
Are you ever tempted to add more detail to your designs, but are worried about veering off the instructions and color keys?
Here's a bit of encouragement.

Are you a member of S.A.B.L.E.? "Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy." We know that many of you are probably charter members of this informal, world wide group and if you are not it is never to late to begin accumulating your stash.
Are you a stitching addict? A member of S.A.B.L.E.? If so read how some of our stitchers completed the following statement:

You know you're addicted to stitching when... you just have to have that pattern, but have no idea when you will be able to start it, let alone complete it! Sharon S

You know you're addicted to stitching when... you smell something burning on the stove and you finish the row anyhow. Barbara C

You know you're addicted to stitching when... before you go out of town on a trip you find out where all of the needlework shops are along the way. And get directions! AND you mark them on your map! Norma B

You know you're addicted to stitching when... you'd rather do sitching than anything else! Colleen

You know you're addicted to stitching when... upon being asked if you've had a good day, you base your answer on how many (hopefully at least) hours you were able to spend stitching! Or when you go through all your old magazines to finally rip out only the charts you might be able to look at now and again, and it takes several hours to do! Sabrina

You know you're addicted to stitching when... you can no longer walk into your walk-in closets.Or when you put risers under your bed to make more room for storage boxes. Tess

I Shall Wear Purple
A cute variation of the poem "The Warning" for stitchers. Have you started buying purple outfits?
